This time, we shot at Clifton.
And honestly, we always come back here.

Clifton 1 to 4 aren’t just beaches. They’re a mood. A presence. A reminder of how quietly extraordinary Cape Town really is. There’s a reason people cross continents just to sit on this sand, wrapped in a towel, staring at the ocean like they’ve forgotten something important, and finally remembered it.

What makes Clifton special isn’t loud. It’s in the details.

The granite boulders that frame each beach feel ancient and grounding, like they’ve been holding space long before we arrived. The sand is impossibly soft, almost white, cool underfoot even on the hottest days. And the water… that unmistakable shade of turquoise that looks filtered but isn’t. It’s raw. Real. Untouched.

One of the things we love most about Clifton is how each beach has its own energy.
Clifton 1 feels intimate and calm.
Clifton 2 is social but effortless.
Clifton 3 hums with life and laughter.
Clifton 4 is iconic, expansive, cinematic, unmistakably Cape Town.

All within a few minutes’ walk of each other. Same ocean. Totally different feelings.

A fun fact most people don’t realise: Clifton’s beaches are west-facing, which means they don’t just get sun, they get light. That soft, glowing, end-of-day light that turns skin golden and shadows gentle. It’s why sunset here feels slower. Why everything looks more beautiful without trying.

And then there’s the contrast we never get over, icy Atlantic water paired with warm sun and still air. It wakes you up. Grounds you. Makes you feel present in your body. That contrast is something we’re endlessly inspired by at TATUM, softness with strength, ease with intention, comfort without compromise.

Clifton isn’t manicured. It’s not perfect in a polished way. Some days the wind shows up uninvited. Some days the sea is wild and unwelcoming. But that’s part of the magic. It’s honest. It’s alive. It doesn’t perform, it just exists, confidently.

We’re incredibly lucky to have this on our doorstep. To create here. To shoot here. To draw inspiration from a place that reminds us why we design the way we do, pieces that feel natural, effortless, and powerful without shouting.

Clifton doesn’t need embellishment.
Neither do the women who wear TATUM.
